An avant-gardist, René Lalique was the driving force of two important phases of the first half of the 20thcentury. His jewellery placed him at the head of Art Nouveau. His work as a master glassworker made him one of the leaders in Art Déco. With his last productions of domestic objects and notably by the use of new materials such as Bakelite, he was close to the style of the fifties.
This publication is produced within the context of the René Lalique 100 vases exhibition dedicated to the artist in 1988.
